You become severely ill

You can get financial support if you contract an illness covered by the insurance against critical illness. The insurance is administered by Forenede Gruppeliv. You can apply for payment on their website.

The pension scheme typically includes an insurance on critical illness which may provide financial support if you become severely ill. 

You may receive a lump sum payment if your diagnosis is covered

The insurance covers a number of diagnoses - e.g. malignant cancer, blood clot in the heart and stroke. If you are diagnosed with one of these, you may receive a tax-free lump sum payment. You can see how much the payment accounts for on Min pension

The insurance is discontined on retirement - however at age 68 at the latest.

How to apply for payment

The insurance on critical illness is a group insurance that is administered by Forenede Gruppeliv. You can see a complete list of the critical illnesses that are covered by the insurance in your pension scheme here 

In the event of a serious illness covered by the insurance, you must contact Forenede Gruppeliv that processes your application and makes the insurance payment.
