As a member of P+ you can be guided to make the best of your patient rights and get the best possible treatment in the public health care system.

Guidance on how to navigate in the health care system
With the Health Compass you can be guided to make the best of your rights and possibilities in the Danish public health care system if you are ill. When you contact the Health Compass, you get in contact with nurses who can help you safely through your course of illness to give you the best possible benefit of the health offers you are entitled to as a citizen in Denmark. 

All members who pay contributions to a pension scheme in P+ can make free and unlimited use of the Health Compass. 

To help you in the best possible way, you must the following before contacting the Health Compass the first time:

  1. Log in to Gjensidige's insurance portal here
  2. Choose 'Kontakt os' in the top menu.
  3. Under the menu option 'Årsag til kontakt' you choose 'Sundhedskompasset'.
  4. Complete a simple questionnaire. It only takes a couple of minutes.
  5. When you have complated the questionnaire, you will receive a welcome letter in Gjensidige's insurance portal and a notification about that your profile has been set up. 

You can now call the Health Compass on 8818 6978.

Opening hours
The phones are open Monday-Thursday from 11:00am to 4:00pm and Friday from 11:00am to 3:00pm. When you get through, you must ask for redirection to the advisory services team.

With the Health Compass you can be guided on how to use your rights and possibilities in order to get the best possible treatment from the public health care system. The Health Compass' advisors can inform you about your rights as a patient in relation to prevention, diagnosing, treatment and rehabilitation. 

 

 

The Health Compass' advisors can e.g. help you with:

 

1. Quick diagnosing

If you own GP cannot help you, you are entitled to examination and diagnosing within 30 days. The advisors assist you in relation to being diagnosed within the time limit. 

 

2. Keeping track of waiting time

The advisors can help you with waiting times within the public health care system.

 

3. Free hospital choice

As a citizen in Denmark you can freely choose which hospital you want to be treated at. The advisors help you getting an overview of the hospitals and how to get here.  

 

4. Treatment within 30 days

When you have a diagnosis, you are entitled to treatment or surgery within 30 days. If the public health care system cannot offer you treatment within 30 days, you are entitled to treatment at a private hospital. 

 

5. Follow-up on you treatment plan in the public health care system.

 

6. Rehabilitation

All citizens who are discharged from a hospital with a rehabilitation plan, are entitled to start the rehabilitation within 7 days. If your municipality cannot offer rehabilitation within the time limit, you are entitled to choose private rehabilitation.

The advisors can guide you how to complain and apply for compensation if you have been mishandled or had an unpleasant surprise in the contact with the health care system.

The Health Compass is established in cooperation with Gjensidige who is P+'s business partner on health. 

 

The Health Compass is run by experienced nurses who can provide guidance to the health care system - both nationally and locally.

Your health information are processed safely. Neither your GP, P+ nor others are informed about you contacting the Health Compass.
